The Double of the West

She was taken to an unfamiliar house and given a stranger's name. They told her that she must speak, walk, and love in a certain way. The old law of the emperor made her a faceless double of the governor's daughter of the West, whose only task is to save the life of someone who is more important, more valuable, and wealthier at the cost of her own freedom. She has only six months left until the end of her masquerade, until her return to the Temple of the Western Dragon — the only place she can call home. Everything changes in an instant, the sky is overcast, and the truths of the past turn out to be lies.
