The mighty hero, ruler of the city of Uruk, demigod Gilgamesh torments his subjects. In response to the people's pleas, the gods create a rival for him - the wild man Enkidu. The powers of the heroes turn out to... be equal, and thus begins the journey and exploits of the two friends, during which they will have to confront the wrath of the gods and understand that no one among men is destined to escape death. Jens Harder visualizes the 'canonical' version of the 'Epic of Gilgamesh,' one of the oldest literary works in the world, recorded on 12 tablets. The edition uses the Russian translation of the 'Epic' by Igor Diakonov, adapted and supplemented by Rim Nurullin.
