New York, 2011. Journalist Miren Triggs has just completed her years-long search for the missing Kira Templeton. At the presentation of the book 'Snow Girl', Miren receives a suspicious envelope with the inscription 'DO YOU WANT TO PLAY?'. Inside is... a Polaroid photo of a bound girl with a gag in her mouth and the caption 'Gina Pebbles, 2002'. Together with her former journalism teacher Jim Shmoer, Miren finds herself embroiled in an investigation that unexpectedly intersects with a recent horrific murder. Fifteen-year-old Allison was crucified, likened to a deity. All clues lead to a strange religious institution. But neither the students, nor the teachers, nor the Reverend himself are willing to share the secrets held within these walls. Miren has very little time left to answer three crucial questions: what happened to Gina? How are the victims connected? And most importantly, who is behind this brutal game?
