The Story of Hedgehogs, Grandfathers and Grandmothers and Climate Change

Nora and her parents have just moved from Sassari to a small town called Uta in southern Sardinia, into a house with a smoking chimney and a garden that looks like a jungle. It is there, in November when it... is cold even in Sardinia, that her mother finds a hedgehog. It soon becomes clear that the hedgehog is very weak and will not survive without outside help. Therefore, Nora and her parents decide: they need to save him, warm him up, and figure out how to feed him. But taking care of a hedgehog is not as easy as it seems, especially if you know nothing about hedgehogs. Fortunately, the hedgehog, named Signor Salsiccia, can count on his new quirky human “nest”: his mother's practicality, his father's enthusiasm, and the girl's support. Meanwhile, Nora starts at a new school where everything is not at all like before, and she makes a new friend, Sofia, whom she has to support in a very important and difficult moment. Like Signor Salsiccia, Nora will grow significantly over this winter.
