Easy Breathing

Vera Ostroumova is one of the first women anthropologists who graduated from Cambridge. Vera explores the phenomenon of death in different cultures, and death follows her closely. At the train station in the southern city of Seversk, an army officer... kills the young beauty Olya Meshcherskaya. He is immediately arrested, and Vera, who is nearby, picks up the victim's diary that was dropped in the chaos. The story, which seems to everyone around to be a simple murder out of jealousy, compels Vera to stay in the town for a few days and understand what really happened to Olya Meshcherskaya.
