The near future. A new species of cephalopods with a unique communication system has been discovered. Marine biologist Dr. Ha Nguyen seeks to study the intelligence of octopuses, while the corporation "Dianima" isolates their habitat. New intelligent life means new opportunities, but not necessarily opportunities for humans.
