The Case of Air

In 1985, London’s criminal groups turned their attention to the profitable literary market, and Thursday Next is on the trail of the Big Criminal. Acheron Hades kidnaps characters from literary works and holds them for ransom. Jane Eyre also disappears. Thursday sets out on a quest to recover the lost characters and preserve the plot of the original novel. But solving crimes against literature is not so simple when you also have to find time to speak out against the war, persuade your beloved man to marry you, and uncover who really wrote Shakespeare’s plays.
