Dubrovsky. The Captain's Daughter

The plots of the novels "Dubrovsky" and "The Captain's Daughter" were taken by Pushkin from real life: the first is based on the story of a famous nobleman, and the second is the result of the author's research on the... Pugachev rebellions. Despite the historical background and Pushkin's attention to the issue of peasantry, the leading line in both texts remains a love story, which, combined with a dynamic narrative, makes these works not only profound but also captivating for readers. The novels are accompanied by classic illustrations by Dementiy Shmarinov, which remarkably convey the characters of the heroes and the mood of the works.
