Many ancient coins are found in Russian lands every year. With the exception of kopecks and coins from the Romanov period, they are generally equipped with Arabic inscriptions.
On this basis, historians propose to consider that all such coins are supposedly not Russian. And they were minted either by foreigners or by foreign invaders of Rus'.
Or, at the very least, by ignorant local imitators who eagerly tried to replicate the incomprehensible foreign scribbles, which seemed to them more beautiful than Russian letters.
