What can happen if you play in a sacred forest? Right! You might encounter mysterious beings—yokai, about which you'll definitely want to know more. Try to sketch what you see so that, by combining your sketches, you can create accurate portraits of the forest spirits. But don't forget to be careful, as yokai can quickly hide from curious eyes.

“Portrait of Yokai” is a beautiful dueling game based on the mechanics of set collection. The main goal is to earn as many yokai points as possible through completed drawings of yokai, who are always eager to hide from sight. To complete the portraits, you will need a certain number of sketches, some of which have special effects.

How to play?
At the beginning of the game, place 4 stacks of yokai cards in the center of the table and deal 4 cards to each player.

Players take turns. Each player's turn consists of two phases.

1. Draw Phase. The player draws 1 card into their hand from the sketch pile.

2. Play Phase. The player places 1 to 3 sketch cards in front of the corresponding yokai card stack. If the number of cards on both sides of the yokai stack equals or exceeds the value of the yokai card after playing, the player takes it for themselves.

The game ends when one or more yokai stacks run out of cards. Players count the yokai points on the cards they collected. The player with the most points wins.
