Sylvia

Kadjetan Pereira, born in Goa but having lived his entire life outside of it — first in Tanzania, then in the UK, returns to the land of his ancestors to finally find a home. He rents a bungalow next to one of the rarest and most mystical trees — the baobab, which reminds him of the best times — his childhood spent in Tanzania. By pure chance, his niece, of whose existence he had no idea, finds out about his whereabouts and comes to visit him. It seems that the family has reunited, yet this is just one event in the chariot of stories woven into the novel. “Sylvia” is a delicately woven tapestry that tells of hope, loss, mental health, and love, as well as the indelible mark we leave on each other's lives.
