In the lilac garden

Louisa May Alcott is an American writer, author of the famous novel Little Women, which brought her worldwide fame and the love of readers. To this day, the book remains one of the most significant works of American literature. In his late novel In the Lilac Garden (1878), Alcott tells the story of a twelve-year-old boy named Ben and his faithful dog Sancho, who ran away from the circus and, after long wanderings, found a new home in a friendly, cheerful family. As in other Alcott books, the little heroes will have to overcome many difficulties, learn patience and forgiveness, and in this they will be helped by sincere love, friendship, courage and faith. In this edition, the novel is presented in a new translation by Anton Ivanov and Anna Ustinova.
