Orthodox prayer speaker

The Orthodox prayer book of a small format with separate canons is supplemented with troparia, kontakia, magnifications and meritories for the twelve feasts, Sunday troparions in eight voices, as well as the Rite of singing twelve psalms.
The rite of singing the twelve psalms is the oldest prayer rule, accepted not only by monks, but also by pious Orthodox laity. This rite was given to St. Pachomius the Great by an Angel who appeared to a meeting of monks who were discussing which prayer rule they should choose.
It is no coincidence that the Glina elders, ascetics of recent times, advised the indispensable daily reading of the twelve psalms. “This is our newspaper,” one of the Glinsk elders said to his spiritual son, who lived in the world, and explained that this rule can be read on the road or anywhere, focusing in the bustle of the day on the holy and spiritual.
