Some Romeos deserve to die. And fairy tales turn into cruel cautionary tales. It was meant to be a harmless kiss at a glamorous debutante ball. A secret moment with a handsome stranger. But unlike Shakespeare's character, my Romeo is not driven by love. He is driven by revenge. To him, I am just a pawn on the chessboard. The bride of his rival. To me, he is a man deserving of poison. A dark prince to whom I refuse to belong. He thinks I will resign myself to my fate. But I plan to rewrite it. In my story, Juliet does not die. But Romeo... He will perish.
