Eternal Winter: Call of Ancestors: a little more about the game

Eternal Winter is a large and beautiful game where variability often depends on the cards drawn and the actions of the party members associated with them. In this small box, you will find new culture, tribe, and animal cards, as well as five leader cards with enhanced properties. When it seemed that the best strategy had been found, replace all or some of the basic decks with alternative ones of the appropriate type and enjoy the evolution of the gameplay.

Your community is evolving! Now among your tribesmen, you can see a storyteller, a beast hunter, and a stoneworker. A brave pioneer will help you explore inaccessible lands and build camps, while a healer will prepare an offering for the temple. But managing these professionals has become a little more challenging: they do not provide additional labor points in the appropriate action columns but suggest a more beneficial use of the points you already have.

How do you feed so many hungry mouths? The answer is already waiting for you on a glorious hunt, kicking and growling ferociously. American mastodons, enormous flightless birds called titanisaurs, cave lions, and other ancient animals also feel the mighty power of nature and react to the solar eclipse, bringing special bonuses to players during this phase.

The culture cards from this expansion affect not only the active player but also allow players to do something useful for others, intensifying the atmosphere of rivalry to the limit. For example, you decided to go hunting, but regretfully note that the prey will go to your opponents as well. Found an excellent shelter from the bad weather? Great, but those pesky neighbors are willing to sacrifice a couple of victory points to settle nearby.

The leaders have also learned a few things. They can bring much more than just tools and food, but achievements require investments — to use an ability now, you need to spend resources or discard two cards, meaning you will have to make tough decisions time and again.
