Plato is an Athenian philosopher of the classical period of ancient Greece, the founder of the Platonic school of thought and the Academy, the first higher educational institution in the Western world. This collection includes a number of his works dedicated to the critical analysis of forms of government, "conversations of the soul with itself," and the biography of Socrates. The publication includes selected dialogues that are of the greatest interest. Plato's legacy has reached our days not in fragments or quotes, but almost in its entirety.
