Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The Island of Doctor Moreau

Wells, whose heroes, without considering the consequences, conduct scientific experiments that go beyond human ethics. The respectable Dr. Jekyll is forced to lead a double life, until a dangerous scientific experiment brings forth the embodiment of his second "self" – the evil monster Mr. Hyde, while Dr. Moreau seeks to create a new society from the beast-people he has made. The endings in both cases are tragic: both experimenters perish, as nature cruelly avenges mindless interference in her laws.
