From Eugene Baratynsky to Vladimir Solovyov - this is the range of the second volume of the anthology "The Poet in Russia - More Than a Poet. Ten Centuries of Russian Poetry". This volume features over eighty authors, born over half a century - from 1800 (the year of Baratynsky's birth) to 1853 (the year of Solovyov's birth).
Among the poets included in the second volume are such celebrities as Nikolai Yazykov, Fyodor Tyutchev, Alexey Koltsov, Mikhail Lermontov, Alexey K. Tolstoy, Afanasy Fet, Nikolai Nekrasov, Konstantin Sluchnevsky, and others. They are accompanied by authors who are far less known and even completely forgotten, but unjustly forgotten, as they too preserve the experience and energy, to use Pushkin's words, of the self-sufficiency of man. Born in the 19th century, all of them were vitally necessary to us in the 20th century and are no less needed today.
The author and compiler of the anthology, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, precedes each selection of poems with his article and dedicates a poem to each poet. The publication is illustrated with works by famous artists, as well as the poets themselves.
