The early eighties. At a dacha in the Moscow region, operatives detain the leading designer of a secret research institute. For a long time, he had been secretly passing data about our strategic developments to Western intelligence agencies. During the interrogation, it turned out that the detainee is just one link in a complex espionage chain. The main figure, under the pseudonym Bellringer, is working at the head enterprise in Siberia… A KGB task force led by Major Mikhail Koltsov urgently departs for the scene. And immediately encounters a murder. Under unexplained circumstances, the deputy director of that very Siberian enterprise is killed. Koltsov is convinced: the Bellringer sensed danger, and this death is the beginning of his agony…
