Kit Darling is a maid who loves to stick her nose into the lives of her wealthy clients. Previously a journalist and media editor, she worked in South Africa and Canada, but now lives with her family on an island near the west coast of Canada.

When Loreth is not working on her next book, she skis, bikes, goes on hikes with her dog (known by the nickname Black Beast), or swims in the ocean. She calls it part of her job because it is during these moments that brilliant ideas and plots for new books come to her.
