In the novel "Heavenly Paths," the concept of the third volume, which was never realized due to the writer's death, reflects the real love story between engineer V.A. Weidenhammer and novice Darinka Korolyova from the Passion Monastery, who left her convent for him. Thanks to this meeting, the religious skeptic-positivist Viktor suddenly discovered a world unknown to him before. Supported by his strong-spirited and sincere believer beloved, he was able to embark on the path of enlightenment.
The author realistically depicted the development of spiritual feeling, which began with the understanding of sin redemption and repentance, leading to the Source of Life. The foundation of the disclosure of the fates and characters of the heroes was the ascetic worldview, the traditions of which were not inherent in the secular culture of the 19th-20th centuries.
