Healthy eating is one of the most important needs of a person, which directly determines their health, quality, and longevity. For children, proper nutrition is especially important: it ensures normal growth and development, learning ability, academic performance, and overall health.

The encyclopedia will introduce readers to the rules of healthy and balanced nutrition for women during breastfeeding, as well as for children of all age groups: early and preschool age, elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as children with excess body weight and obesity. Information about vitamins and dietary supplements in children's nutrition, as well as labeling rules for products, is presented in an accessible form.
The publication is intended for parents interested in issues related to the formation of a healthy lifestyle in the family, aimed at preserving and strengthening children's health.
The authors are employees of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Federal Research Center for Nutrition and Biotechnology". The ideological inspirer and project leader is Gennady Onishchenko, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, doctor of medical sciences, professor.
