The Birth of Tragedy from the Spirit of Music

Friedrich Nietzsche 1844 - 1900 - a German philosopher, classic philologist, poet, author of such well-known works as «Beyond Good and Evil», «The Antichrist», «Thus Spoke Zarathustra» and others. «The Birth of Tragedy from the Spirit of Music» - an aesthetic treatise in which Nietzsche presented his view on the origins of art that emerged in Ancient Greece. According to the philosopher, it was in art that the ancient Greeks found an antidote to the meaninglessness of existence. And it is precisely from ancient Greek art that the ongoing struggle between the light and dark principles, between harmony and chaos, began, continuing through the following centuries of European civilization.
