In the Depths of Centuries

Lyubov Fyodorovna Voronkova (1906–1976) — a classic of Russian literature, the author of many novels and stories that have captivated more than one generation of readers of all ages. The writer gained particular fame for her historical works, primarily her books about the life of Alexander the Great: the novels «Son of Zeus» and «In the Depths of Centuries», — perhaps one of the most vivid biographies of the great commander, destroyer of cities and conqueror of lands, who proclaimed himself the son of a god. The novel «In the Depths of Centuries» tells of the grand campaigns and battles of Alexander the Great, about his love for the young princess Roxana, and the rise and fall of the vast Macedonian empire. The novel is accompanied by classic illustrations by the famous Soviet graphic artist Igor Ilyinsky.
