The authors were called both "the Russian Tolkiens" and "the Russian Burroughses." Some critics claimed that this novel is a mass of uncontrollable nonsense, while others claimed that it is the greatest work, representing a new "War and Peace" at the turn of two millennia. The novel truly managed to become a model of "mythogenicity" - countless rumors and legends circulate around this epic.
