Escape of the Kumanyks

«Escape of the Kumanyks» can be called the diary of a traveling student, a network journal of the new Verter, a monologue of a lover, notes from a mad house. It can also be called a mystical detective: it features... a monastery labyrinth, archaeologists, thieves, deceivers, and even artifacts that can grant secret wishes but take life in return. The characters in this book do not call each other on the phone - they read other people's mail, write emails, send love messages through hotel porters, and flip through the pages of a medieval manuscript.
 
Who are all these people? How did they become involved in a story that is impossible to explain, but can be told - so that space and time lose their meaning? And what does the word «escape» in the title of the book mean - a reckless flight from captivity or a weak sprout on a thorny stem?
