After the end of the war for independence, young Beatriz finds herself in a difficult position: her father is dead, their house is burned, and she and her mother have to serve noble relatives. Everything changes when a wealthy landowner, Rodolfo Solorzano, makes her a proposal. And it doesn’t matter that the death of his first wife looks suspicious. Beatriz needs her own home.
