Sense and Sensibility

A whole gallery of vivid images of contemporaries of the classic English literature writer Jane Austen - noble and treacherous, reckless and faint-hearted, prim and tender - appears on the pages of her works. Austen's first mature novel "Sense and... Sensibility" is about the fates of two sisters, sensible Elinor and passionate Marianne. The girls see the world differently: one listens to the voice of her heart, the other acts according to what her reason dictates. Each of them struggles for the chance to marry their beloved despite all circumstances. After all, both desperately want the same thing - love and happiness.
The book has been adapted into films multiple times. The film "Sense and Sensibility" by Ang Lee, starring Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, and Hugh Grant, won numerous international film awards, including an "Oscar".
