The Law of Oblivion

The seventeenth century was tumultuous in English history. In 1649, Cromwell's rebels publicly beheaded Charles I, and in 1660, the monarch's son, Charles II, ascended the throne. To put an end to the cycle of reprisals, a law was enacted granting forgiveness to all participants of the civil war. Everyone except those who signed the death warrant for the king. These individuals are hunted, captured, and subjected to brutal execution. Two of them, devoted supporters of Cromwell, Colonel Edward Waller and William Goff, flee to the ends of the earth to save their lives.
