Leading futurist Bob Johansen, based on research from the Institute for the Future, shows how a new way of thinking — full spectrum thinking — can help leaders break free from limiting frameworks and see new opportunities for business development.

spectrum thinking is the ability to look for patterns and interconnections beyond categories and stereotypes, not succumbing to false certainty in one’s own correctness. The world is changing rapidly, and in the next 10 years, the reality around us will change even more. The main trends are that we are moving from a product economy to an economy of experiences and customer experiences. Increasingly, people will decide what they want to own and what they just want to use. It will become harder to distinguish between human and computer resources. The labor market will see the emergence of a generation of "digital natives," and their lifestyle and value orientations will set the direction for HR policy.
The new reality will require a new paradigm of thinking. Those companies whose leaders provide space for a wide range of alternative solutions and adhere to full spectrum thinking will survive and thrive.
