Phyllis Dorothy James – the queen of the English detective novel, holder of numerous literary awards, a writer who is called the heiress of Agatha Christie. All her novels have been adapted for film and translated into many languages, with a total circulation of over 60 million copies. A small colony of writers is shaken by a monstrous murder. In a boat, moored to the shore, the body of a famous detective novel author is found. Experienced investigator Adam Dalgliesh, visiting his aunt, is forced to begin the investigation.
