Some paid for their time on the throne with their lives: Ivan VI spent 23 years in captivity and was killed during an attempt to liberate him, Peter III and Paul I fell at the hands of conspirators, Alexander II became a victim of a terrorist attack, and Nicholas II was shot on the decision of the Ural Council.
The book by Doctor of Historical Sciences Igor Kurukin, which gathers all reigning Romanovs under one cover, tells about the fate of the dynasty, the history of which began in 1613 in the Kostroma Ipatiev Monastery with the invitation to the throne of its first representative and ended in Yekaterinburg in the Ipatiev House with the shooting of the royal family.
