In 2021, I wrote a book “Hug Your Inner Child: 108 Supportive Messages” (published by MACards). I had been developing the idea for about two years, and initially, I wanted to create a message for each day – similar to some “psychological” diaries. The working title of this book was originally “365 Messages for the Inner Child.” But then I realized that would be too much.
But the most interesting things started happening as I continued to “develop” the book, which only strengthened my conviction that it needed to be written: several times during these two years, I recorded voice messages with words of support for my clients at their request. “When I hear your voice, I believe it,” they told me. “But when I try to tell myself, I often find it hard to believe those words.”
The book was published, and I received many warm reviews about it. One of the most surprising and pleasantly shocking reviews was that this is not just a book about interacting with one’s own inner child. “For me, this is a management book; I understood how to talk to the staff!” — this is what someone once told me about this book.
Yes, when we see the inner child in ourselves and in others, it can often make life much easier.
But then I started being asked if there were metaphorical cards with such messages?
When I first thought about the book and it was still just a project, I considered immediately creating a format of metaphorical cards. But I reconsidered, as I thought it was very important to provide context and explanations for each message.
But I started receiving more and more inquiries about metaphorical cards or at least text cards based on the book.
