To Have or To Be?

In his famous work To Have or To Be?, Erich Fromm vividly demonstrates the consequences of relationships formed on the principle of You – for me, I – for you, and attempts to answer the question that ultimately arises for everyone: what is more important – possessing objects of material culture or true, meaningful being, when a person truly lives each moment of their life, realizing it and enjoying it in all its fullness?
