In the entire history of the United States, only four federal judges have been killed. Recently, a fifth was added to this list – Raymond Fossett. The bodies of the judge and his secretary were found in a cabin by... the lake, with no signs of forced entry or struggle. Furthermore, an open, empty safe was discovered in the cabin… Who killed Fossett and why? And what was stored in the safe? It seems that only one person knows the answers to these questions – a prisoner in a Maryland state camp, Malcolm Bannister, a former lawyer convicted for a crime he did not commit. Bannister is willing to help the FBI agents by providing them with information. But he demands too much in return. Moreover, it is unclear whether he can be trusted at all…
