The year 1839, tensions between China and Britain are rapidly escalating. China does not want foreigners to turn it into a giant market for Indian opium. Losing huge revenues, British colonialists start a war. A British-Indian armada is heading towards Chinese Canton. The concluding book of the trilogy will reveal what happened to the heroes of "Sea of Poppies" and "River of Smoke". Their dramatic fates unfold against the backdrop of no less dramatic great History, weaving into a vast and colorful multi-figure canvas.
In 2015, the novel "The Fiery Flow" won the Crossword Book Award, the largest literary award in India.
