Memory of Autumn

This collection publishes only three literary screenplays by Alexander Zvyagintsev. In fact, there are many more. But the author's screenplays have been adapted into many well-known thriller feature films, television shows, artistic-publicistic, and documentary films. In particular, such feature films... as "Sarmatian", "Clan", "Natural Selection", "Deserter". His documentary works are well known to the audience, adapted in the genre of historical investigation: "The Devil's Trail", "Rules of the Game", "The Right of Power is the Power of Right", "Minister on Trust", "Dead Souls", "Lead Thaw", "The Return of Saint Luke", "Opening the Closet of Shame" and others. And, of course, a large series of popular documentary films about the Nuremberg Trials. Alexander Zvyagintsev is a laureate of many awards and honors. In particular, twice he was awarded the "Golden Eagle" by the Russian Academy of Cinema Arts and Sciences.
Films made from his screenplays are always captivating. And his screenplays leave no one indifferent - they are very interesting to read. Indeed, in them one can see what is not in the films, what the directors missed or changed. Therefore, the reader can only gain a complete understanding of the author after familiarizing himself with the screenplays and realizing the mastery with which he navigates the edges of the human mind. A characteristic feature of the literary and civic style of the screenwriter is the theme of historical memory and personal responsibility of a person in the struggle against evil, which sometimes appears in the most unexpected forms.
