Do Not Resurrect Me!

 

Valery Bryusov (1873-1924) - poet and remarkable translator, one of the founders of symbolism in Russia, of course, is less known as a fantasist. The author, under various pseudonyms, wrote throughout his life about the worlds of other beings on... Earth, revealed the mysteries of hypnosis, or painted futuristic pictures of the future. Bryusov the fantasist tried his hand at different genres: novels, stories, plays, and essays. Of course, poetry is also included in the narrative. We observe how scientists resurrect Hegel, the uprising of alien slaves, the degradation of future humans, and quite realistic madness of an old man. The collection includes works such as the novel "The Mountain of the Star", the stories "In the Mirror", "Marble Head", "Do Not Resurrect Me!" and the play "Earth".
