The idea for this hilarious western was inspired in Robert Howard by the atmosphere of his native Texas and meetings with remarkable people: the great writer even encountered real cowboys at the beginning of the 20th century! The hulking Breck... Elkins is the strongest guy in the village, but at the same time a good-natured simpleton: his child could wrap him around their little finger! However, Breck always reaches his goal - he helps the weak, punishes the villains, brings the light of enlightenment to his native land, and wins the love of the county's first beauty! The question is what kind of predicament he will get into this time and how many people will suffer in the process...
The novel, which has not been published in Russia for more than a quarter of a century, is presented in a new translation. The work is adorned with illustrations specially prepared for this edition.
