Mom, Drop the Anchor

 

Marina Ryklina's autobiographical book "Mom, Drop the Anchor" is structured as a series of stories about family, friends, and interesting episodes from her journalistic work, which began at the News Agency and unexpectedly continued in the Ministry of Emergency Situations... of Russia. Each story contains moments of an era. They all reflected quite differently, but sometimes very harshly, on the author's biography. This book is a continuation of conversations with children, and now with grandchildren, for which due to constant work commitments, there often wasn't enough time. Furthermore, this book is about how it is possible to remain a beloved mother and wife despite endless business trips, staying late at work, and the persistent, tearing feeling that one might miss the most important thing - not seeing how children change, not helping during serious experiences, simply not being there when they are having fun or when something unexpected happens.
