The Portrait of a Lady

A young American woman, Isabel Archer, arrives in England at the invitation of her aunt. Miss Archer is beautiful, has a lively character, and is overall charming. She is driven by the desire to see the world, however, lacking funds, Isabel can only be satisfied with the role of her aunt's companion. Suddenly inherited wealth allows her to turn her dreams into reality, but having become rich, Isabel risks becoming an instrument for someone else's goals.
