Lottie Wilkins and Rose Arbuthnot were not happy in their marriages. Both had almost resigned themselves to their fate, but one day they read an advertisement in the «Times» about a small medieval castle for rent in Italy. The ladies decided to split the high rent among four and found two more companions. Soon, leaving gloomy, rainy London, the four ladies set off for Italy.
