The book includes fantastic stories and novellas by Jack London (1876-1916) - the famous American prose writer, who is not typically regarded as a science fiction author. In reality, Jack London has a considerable number of fantastic works - bold, original, diverse, such that he can rightly be called one of the first science fiction writers in American literature of the 20th century.

Before us is a book of fantastic works by one author - Jack London. For some reason, he is never referred to as a science fiction writer - and quite unfairly. Because Jack London, well-known as a magnificent realist writer, was also a remarkable fantasist. So much so that he can rightly be called one of the fathers of American science fiction of the twentieth century.
