Outstanding writer John Updike (1932-2009) is one of the most talented American literati.

His novel "Let's Get Married" became a bestseller. It is a touching and exciting story about the relationships of two married couples. The husband of one is in love with his friend's wife, and his wife is in love with her husband's friend. They are overwhelmed by passionate feelings: passion, tenderness, anger, despair. They believe that if they divorce, a new life will begin. But it turns out they are not ready to be together. Love is not always happiness; sometimes it is suffering.

John Updike (1932-2009) is one of the most significant American writers of the second half of the 20th century, a prose writer, poet, and literary critic, author of 23 novels and 45 other books: collections of stories, poems, critical articles on literature, painting, and children's books. He is a recipient of many literary awards, including two Pulitzer Prizes (for the novels "Rabbit Is Rich" and "Rabbit at Rest").
