The Devil's Brand

In a small district center called Ozeryki, several brutal serial murders are taking place. The maniac chooses only girls as victims. The traces of torture and abuse leave even seasoned detectives in shock: the body of each victim is burned... with a hot fork, leaving a peculiar "devil's brand" on the skin. Local journalist Lina Zhuravlyova, who writes on criminal topics, tries to reach Major Parfenov, the head of the investigative team. However, the police have a strong aversion to the journalist; they fundamentally ignore her and refuse to listen. The girl has no choice but to bare her back in front of the major. To her horror, Parfenov sees a burn in the shape of four stripes – just like the girls killed by the maniac. Lina then reveals to the major a terrible family secret, how she was tormented by her parents in childhood and tortured with a hot fork. Does this mean the maniac is known?! But the story turned out to be even more terrifying and mysterious. Lina's parents burned to death under strange circumstances in their own home many years ago…
