«Yes, Dark Lord!» — a card game for those who want to compete in eloquence and resourcefulness. Incredibly simple rules make this game one of the popular options for relaxing with a friendly and cheerful company. Always different games and a multitude of fantastic tall tales – the game is truly unique in its kind.
The essence of the game
Gamers will have to venture into the lands where the Dark Lord named Rigor Mortis reigns. His favorite and, perhaps, main occupation is to give his subjects, servants of darkness, various tasks. However, as is often the case in some dark worlds, his subjects fail to fulfill their duties. And the reasons for this are unfortunately unknown.
And thus comes the moment when, after another failure to complete their tasks, the goblin servants go to the Lord to justify themselves and inform him of something that will save them from death. These failures become the gamers who must, exercising their eloquence, come up with such excuses, stories, and accusations for others that the Lord's Scorching Gaze does not turn upon them.
If any player collects three Scorching Gaze cards, the game will end, and the player will be considered the loser.
Mechanics
Multiple cards in the game serve as a platform for inventing tall tales. Action and Hint cards are drawn at the beginning of the game and allow the player to respond to the Lord's questions in two ways.
For example, if inspiration suddenly runs dry, the Action card allows accusing another player of everything, and then it will be their turn to come up with excuses. But it's not that simple; all other players also have the right to join the story and add something of their own or even hinder the storytelling altogether. If something is added, the main story must also change.
As for the Dark Lord himself, his role is also played by one of the players. It is he who must listen very carefully to all the «tales» and think each time about who has lied the most and whose fantastical justifying story turned out to be more real. Then he distributes the Gaze cards, thus drawing closer to the end of the game.
Along the way, different players may receive the Scorching Gaze card each time, so accumulating three cards may not happen quickly.
