Bauhaus

First published in 1984, Frank Whitford's (b. 1941) book remains one of the best overviews of the history and achievements of the Bauhaus - a school of architecture and design established in the Weimar Republic in 1919, closed by the Nazis fourteen years later, but managed to lay the foundations for the teaching of arts and crafts disciplines in less than one and a half decades of its existence.
