Bees. What humans and bees mean to each other

Bees are much older than humans: when 4–5 million years ago the predecessors of Homo sapiens encountered honeybees, those had already lived on Earth for about 5 million years. Bees appear in the myths and legends of Ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece, India and Scandinavia, Central American and European countries. The daily work of these industrious pollinators is essential for the life of animals and humans. The international organization The Earthwatch Institute officially declared bees the most important beings on the planet, their extinction would mean the end of humanity.
