Planet Water — a collection of three detective novellas about the detective Erast Fandorin. Each story belongs to a different subgenre of adventure and detective fiction.
Planet Water
Fandorin embarks on a dangerous expedition to uncover the mystery of a mysterious crime linked to a secret society and an underwater base in the ocean. The plot combines elements of a spy novel and science fiction: the heroes face unusual technologies, a ruthless opponent, and global plans capable of changing the fate of humanity. Fandorin must demonstrate not only intelligence but also courage to prevent a catastrophe.
The Lonely Sail
The story unfolds against the backdrop of a sea voyage and resembles a classic adventure novel. Fandorin finds himself drawn into the investigation of a mysterious crime, where the circle of suspects is limited, and the truth is hidden behind many secrets and personal motives. During the investigation, the detective gradually uncovers a complex web of intrigue and human passions.
Where Shall We Sail?
This novella has a more philosophical character. Fandorin faces a case where the crime is connected not only with personal motives but also with ideas about the future of society. The investigation forces the hero to reflect on the fate of the country, moral values, and the choices that people make.
The collection unites different types of detective stories — from adventure and "marine" to intellectual, but in all the tales, Fandorin remains the central figure, whose observance, logic, and sense of honor help unravel the most complex mysteries.
