In performing any asana in yoga, the muscles control our bones, provide joint stability, protect nerves, hold or move parts of the body... Their role is very diverse. Therefore, depending on the situation, muscles need to be strong or elastic, capable of relaxing and stretching, as well as being in several of these states at once while coordinating their actions.
Yoga, when performed correctly, can gradually develop all these qualities of muscles. The book examines the various variations of muscle function in different asanas. Through examples and illustrations organized into thematic blocks, we will observe individual muscles or muscle groups and learn to distinguish their functions in each specific case.
This guide is intended for people with a sufficiently advanced level of training. It will help readers approach their workouts more consciously.
